Roof films can personalize the look of your vehicle and provide some protection. Here are the general steps to apply roof film:
Preparations: Before you start, make sure you have a large enough car wrap, a water spray, cleaner, fine-bristled brush, plastic scraper, scissors, and a heat gun (or hair dryer).
Clean the roof: Use detergent and a water spray to give the roof a thorough clean. Removes all dirt, dust and grease. Use a fine-bristle brush to clean hard-to-reach areas.
Prepare the car film: Unroll the car film and use scissors to trim the car film to the appropriate size according to the shape and size of the roof to cover the entire roof surface.
Applying car film: Use a water sprayer to spray water evenly on the roof surface so that the position can be adjusted when applying the car film. Meanwhile, spray water on the back of the car film to prevent sticking.
Place the film on the roof: Gently place the film on the roof, making sure to align the edges and corners. When applying the film, you can use a plastic squeegee to gently push the film to help it adhere tightly to the roof surface.
Eliminate air bubbles: During the process of pasting the car film, air bubbles may appear. Use a plastic scraper to gently push from the center of the car film to the edge to gradually remove the air bubbles.
Trim excess: Once the car wrap has covered the entire roof, use scissors to trim off excess. Be careful not to damage the car film or the surface of the vehicle.
Heating and Flattening: Using a heat gun (or hair dryer) to apply heat to the car wrap will make it more pliable and help it adhere better to the roof surface. At the same time, use a plastic scraper to flatten the film, making sure it is in full contact with the roof surface.
INSPECTION AND CLEANING: Carefully inspect the post-wrapped surface to make sure there are no air bubbles, wrinkles, or unapplied areas. Adjustments and repairs can be made with a plastic scraper and heat gun if necessary. Finally, clean the surface of the car wrap to remove any stains or fingerprints.
